A little love affair with your own life.
For four days, treat yourself as someone you are so deeply in love with.
And then see what happens when you go home.
What might change if this became the way you related to yourself —
not just for four beautiful days in Ubud, but
in the ordinary Tuesdays and tired mornings and tiny decisions that make up a life?
If you listened when your body said enough.
If you trusted what delighted you.
If you rested before you had earned it.
If you fed yourself beautifully.
If you made space for pleasure.
If you stopped abandoning yourself in the smallest, invisible ways.
For You, My Little Love is not four days away from your life.
It is four days to practise another way of being inside it.
This November, I’m bringing five women with me to Ubud for four days devoted to self-love —
not simply as something we understand intellectually or repeat to ourselves in affirmations, but as something we experience through the body, through life, and living.
These days will feel lush, slow and deeply sensorial.
Mornings waking to the warmth and green of Bali, moving sleepy bodies through yoga, breath and long delicious stretches. Bare feet. Morning light. Nowhere to rush to afterwards.
Cacao, beautiful brunches and really good matcha. Luxuriating in massages. Long pockets of afternoon with absolutely nowhere to be.
We’ll float weightlessly on water while receiving a healing sound journey, letting the water carry the weight of our bodies as voice and vibration move around us.
We’ll lie within the Pyramids of Chi and dissolve into sound. We’ll move, breathe, sing, make art, play, rest, wander through the green of Ubud and spend time doing delightfully nothing at all.
And in the evenings, after a shower and a slow afternoon, we’ll get dressed and go somewhere beautiful.
I’ve chosen some of my favourite places in Ubud for us to wine and dine.
Places I want you to experience. Breathtaking sunsets. Candlelight. Beautiful plates arriving at the table. Food we get excited about. Long conversations that wander everywhere. The deliciousness of looking around the table at the end of the evening, and feeling so content, so at peace, so satiated.
I have been very intentional about leaving space around all of this.
I don't want this to feel like four days of working very hard on yourself.
There will be depth.
There will be somatics, yoga, movement, breath, sound, voice, cacao, art and ritual.
We will meet ourselves honestly. We will listen to the body. We will explore the places where receiving, pleasure, rest, desire and self-devotion become complicated.
But we will also have fun.
Because I am increasingly interested in a kind of healing that does not make our lives into an endless healing project.
I am interested in what happens when the practice becomes enjoying the life we are already inside.
When I named this retreat For You, My Little Love, I was thinking about that tender place within each of us that doesn't need another demand placed upon her.
She doesn't need to be more evolved. She doesn't need to become more productive, more spiritual, more healed, more desirable or more anything.
Maybe she just needs us to turn towards her and ask,
what would feel good, my love? what do you need? what would make you come alive?
And then listen.
That is what I want these four days to be.
A little love affair with your own life.
With your body. Your senses. Your desires. Your inner world. With pleasure and beauty and sound and food and water and the miracle of being here together, at this time.
Four days of choosing yourself not because you've finally done enough to deserve it, but because you exist.
