Medicine for the Mother Wound :: A 22-Day Exploration into Self-Love, Emotional Softness, and Inner Child Healing

Cancer season invites us to slow down, to soften, and to feel more deeply. It reminds us that our sensitivity—often dismissed or judged—comes from something real: a wound, a longing, a moment of separation within. Rather than turning away from these feelings, we are invited to meet them with presence and tenderness.

Two years ago, during Cancer season, I spontaneously created an offering called Quantum Wombspace to explore somatic ritual, emotional processing, and embodiment as medicine for the mother wound. It was born from my own journey and the collective disconnection many of us carry—from the feminine, from our emotions, from our intuition, from the rhythms of nature.

When our connection to the Great Mother or embodied maternal figures is lost, how do we learn to mother ourselves? Many of our mothers had to suppress their own feminine essence, adapting to masculine roles within family or society. And so, the lineage continues—until we choose to interrupt it.

Personally, I never truly felt a connection with my inner child until Medicine for the Mother Wound came through me. It became clear that I hadn’t yet embodied the inner mother within myself. And of course, where there is no mother, the child cannot feel safe.

On the first day of the practice, we were invited to write a letter from our inner child, and then to our inner child. I didn’t expect much. But to my surprise, something awakened. Maternal instincts I didn’t know existed surfaced. For the first time, I felt what it might be like to be a mother—not in theory, but as a visceral, somatic experience. It was a flooding of love, unlike anything I’d felt before. Also a flooding of tears, and back then, crying was one of the most challenging ways of emotional release for me. Something very primal was thawing out.

Those 22 days were life-changing. I journeyed with 22 women—mothers, soon-to-be mothers, and women healing their own inner children. It was deeply tender, beautiful, and healing. Unexpected, yet unforgettable.

This Cancer season, I feel called to offer the journey again.A free 22-day inner child exploration as a gift to the community.
