FOR YOU, MY LITTLE LOVE — Ubud, 1–4 November

What happens when, for four days, we give ourselves the quality and depth of attention and presence we so readily give to someone we love, or to our work and friends and families?

FOR YOU, MY LITTLE LOVE is four days of deep time with yourself, together in an intimate group.

A retreat devoted not to fixing ourselves, but to becoming more deeply interested in ourselves.

To listening.

To following curiosity.

To remembering pleasure.

To discovering what we like,

what we want,

what makes us soften,

what makes us come alive.

And perhaps, through all this,

becoming a little more tender with the person

we spend our entire lives with:

ourselves.

OUR MORNINGS

We rise together.

We gather for cacao.

We eat a nourishing breakfast.

We journal, contemplate, move, breathe,

and come into deep conversation with the lesser-known parts of ourselves.

We ask questions we may not usually

give ourselves the time to ask.

Not searching for an answer.

Simply becoming more interested in ourselves.

OUR AFTERNOONS

We have lunch.

We take sound journeys.

We create.

We experience traditional Balinese activities, beautiful workshops and excursions.

We follow delight.

We wander.

We make things with our hands.

We allow ourselves to be surprised.

And we invite our Little Loves to experience the world through wide, curious eyes.

To show them, through lived experience:

it is safe to play.

it is safe to be playful.

it is safe to have fun.

it is safe to follow what delights me.

OUR EVENINGS

We bathe.

We dress.

We gather around beautiful tables.

We experience some of Ubud's most beautiful multi-course dining experiences.

We savour.

We relish.

We let ourselves receive.

Beauty.

Taste.

Texture.

Aroma.

Conversation.

Pleasure.

Not decadence for decadence's sake.

But as another way of saying to ourselves:

You are worthy of beauty.

You are worthy of pleasure.

You are worthy of my attention.

And perhaps:

I am curious — so I experience.

I desire — so I follow.

THE PRAYER

The prayer for these four days is not that we

emerge having “healed” our inner-child wounds.

My hope is that we leave having come into

deeper relationship with ourselves.

A little more tender.

A little more loving.

A little more accepting.

A little more curious about the person within us who is still unfolding.

Because intimacy with ourselves isn't about finally knowing everything there is to know.

Perhaps it is about remaining interested.

And we do this together.

There are parts of ourselves we discover in solitude.

And there are parts of ourselves we discover through one another.

Someone shares something and we recognise ourselves.

Someone embodies a quality we long to reclaim.

Someone's courage gives us permission.

Someone's joy awakens our own.

Someone sees something beautiful in us that we haven't yet learned to see.

We learn from one another.

We inspire and are inspired by one another.

We become mirrors for each other's becoming.

And maybe, somewhere within these four days,

we remember a deeper sense of belonging—

to ourselves,

to one another,

to this beautiful world.

This is FOR YOU, MY LITTLE LOVE.

Four days of spending time with ourselves,

together.
